Doctor Daniel Slaton, DVM

Daniel B. Slaton, DVM
Dr. Slaton grew up in Ventura and attended Buena High School. On the Varsity swimming and Water Polo teams he excelled and was a member of the Junior National Championship Water Polo Team. As an undergraduate at the University of California, Irvine he participated on the nationally ranked UC Irvine Water Polo team. Dr. Slaton graduated from Ross Veterinary University and completed his final year at Washington State University. He is a member of the Santa Barbara-Ventura Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Slaton enjoys spending time with his 16 month old son Noah and his very large canine companion, Disco, an English Mastiff. Activities include running long distance (Marathons), surfing and snowboarding. (Disco prefers lolloping through the snow rather than snowboarding)


Doctor Steven Rosenstein, DVM

Steven Rosenstein, DVM
Dr. Rosenstein has called the Conejo Valley his home since 1967.  He graduated from the University of California at Davis, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Zoology followed by a DVM Degree in 1982.  Dr. Rosenstein has owned and operated the Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital in Westlake Village for more than 20 years; but looks forward to working with Dr. Slaton and his staff when the two practices merge in their new facility this summer.  Steve and his wife, Andrea, are very busy raising their six children!  Dr. Rosenstein is dedicated to his family and his profession, but looks forward to getting back to his hobbies including oil painting, playing the guitar, writing, and the occasional day at the beach or on the golf course.

Doctor Lisa Woolf, DVM

Lisa Woolf, DVM
Dr. Lisa Woolf was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and graduated from the esteemed Ontario Veterinary College.  Following her education in conventional veterinary medicine, she attended the Chi Institute in Jacksonville, Florida and studied Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Acupuncture.  Dr. Woolf combines her knowledge and expertise in Eastern and Western medicine to provide the ultimate treatment for her patients.  Dr. Woolf has been living in and around Los Angeles for 10 years.  After living and practicing in Sherman Oaks, Lisa, her husband, three kids, two dogs, and a very large cat moved to beautiful Oak Park to enjoy living in “one of the best places in the world to raise a family”.  As a family they enjoy hiking, skiing, and swimming.  Lisa enjoys photography, scrapbooking, and reading in her free time.


Doctor Howard Martin, DVM

Howard Martin, DVM

Howard Martin, DVM is an Associate veterinarian providing Avian, Exotic, and other small animal clients the expertise needed for these special pets. Dr. Martin has over 28 years of avian and exotic experience. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis in 1982 and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery. He then spent two years completing a residency program in Zoo and Wildlife medicine. Dr. Martin taught for 6 years at Colorado State University and established an avian and exotic clinic. He moved back to California with his wife Audrey to be closer to family. Dr. Martin has published many articles on avian and exotic medicine. He is on the Board of Directors for The Gibbon Conservation Center and belongs to numerous other veterinary organizations.

Stan is a California native and Vietnam veteran currently living in Channel Islands Marina, who came out of retirement to help Dr. Slaton open Westlake Village Animal Hospital. Stan provides accounting, marketing and overall business experience which enables Dr. Slaton to focus all of his time, skills and energy in providing quality medicine to WVAH patients and clients. Stan has always had pets, mostly K9’s to include several St Bernards, a Golden Retriever, and currently a Bishon Frisee named Rocky and a Maltese named Marley. Stan is married to Alice (pronounced Aleece) and has 3 boys, Daniel (Dr. Slaton), Ryan, and Marcus; and 3 grandchildren, Nathan, Noah and Kinsley. Stan loves to spend time in their home in Lake Tahoe snowboarding. He enjoys flying (fixed wing and helicopter), swimming, hiking and spending time with Alice and the boys (kids and grand kids).

Brittany Lampman – Veterinary Technician/Receptionist
Brittany is a California native and is currently working on a Biology degree with plans to attend veterinary school in the future. Brittany is a skilled technician and loves animals. She has a new Border Collie puppy named Wyatt and a horse name Wilson.

Chris Smith was born and raised in the Conejo Valley and is a senior at Cal State University Northridge. Chris plans to go to Vet School upon graduation. He lives with his Border Collie, Grace, and Rabbit, Jim.


Chandra Fardig – Lead Receptionist
Chandra is from Simi Valley and currently attends Moorpark College. She plans on transferring to California State University, Channel Islands for a degree in nursing. Chandra lives with her two dogs, Niko and Mr. Pooty along with a cat named Frankie.


Mandy MasonMandy Mason, DVM – Veterinary Technician
Mandy received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Mandy is currently working as a veterinary technician while waiting to take the California State board exams. Mary received her BA at Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe. Mandy currently lives in Sherman Oaks with her husband David, and 3 1/2 year old son Charles. Mandy has been a lifelong lover of animals and currently has 3 dogs, Milkshake, a Sheperd Mix 10 yrs old, Decker, a Patterdale Terrier 9 yrs old, and Pete a Rottweiler 3 mos old.


Jenna ErroJenna Erro – Veterinary Assistant
Jenna grew up in Newbury Park and received her BS degree in Marine Biology at UC Santa Cruz. Prior to her current position at WVAH, Jenna worked four years as an Aviculturist/Mammalogist at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Jenna is recently married to Chris and they have an 8 year old Doberman mix named Kahlua.


Kim GarnerKim Garner – Receptionist/Veterinary Technician
Kim lives in Simi Valley with her husband, Jesse, rescue puppy ,Vito, and two Sphynx cats, Isis and Kamo.  Kim is currently in the process of obtaining a B.A. degree in Business Administration from the University of La Verne.  Kim has worked in the veterinary field for 7 years as an assistant and technician. She hopes to become a licensed vet tech in the near future.

Lynn Haines – Vet Receptionist, Business Liaison
Lynn was born and raised in L.A., having studied Physical Education/Kinesiology at Cal State University, Northridge in the 70’s.  Married and divorced, her 3 sons and 2 daughters are now grown and on their own, 2 of them married.  She also has 3 (almost 4) grandchildren!  Lynn has worked for Dr. Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for 18 years, both as a Vet Receptionist and in the Business Office.  She loves hiking and ocean-kayaking, history, foreign language and the arts.  Lynn has a 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel “Blanche Dubois” who keeps her on the ragged edge!


Erika Bode – RVT
Erika is a Southern California native.  After studying at Moorpark College and UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Marine Biology, she ultimately decided that Veterinary Technology was to be her career.  Erika graduated from Los Angeles Pierce College in 2004, received her RVT license in February 2005, and has worked for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for more than 6 years.  When not spending time with her rescued dog “Bryce” and cat “Sashi”, you can find her either at the beach, snowboarding…or planning her next traveling adventure!


Heather Fukumoto – RVT
Heather graduated from Los Angeles Pierce College in June 2009 with an A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology.  She passed her California State Board Examination in September 2009 to become an RVT. She has worked for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for almost 6 years.  She lives in Simi Valley with her cat “Callie” her 2 Cockapoos “Daisy” & “Annabelle”, and her Golden Retriever “Ella”.  In her free time Heather likes to take her dogs to the beach and to go to the movies!


Kim Frizzelle – Vet Receptionist-Vaccine Clinic
Kim was born and raised in New York City. She attended Duke University until her sophomore year when she left to marry her college sweetheart. She divorced in 1994 and has 4 grown sons, one of whom is married, with grandbaby #1 on the way! She has worked for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for 16 years, on Saturdays only. (Perhaps you’ve seen her at the Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic!). Kim has 2 Labs “Melody” & “Zero”, cats “Luke”, “Pearl” & “Gracie”, and Dwarf Hamsters “Hazel” & “Norma”. She enjoys puttering around the house, watching movies, gardening and hanging out with her dogs at the beach. (“Zero” is quite the tennis ball-enthusiast!)


Dave Benveniste – VT
Dave was born in the Big Apple, lived overseas and then moved to the City of Angels in 1974, where he joined the US Navy and traveled around the world. Originally a Marine Biology major, Dave switched to veterinary nursing, and is on his way to obtaining an RVT license. He has worked as a Vet Tech for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for 21 years! He married his ‘Lil Angel’ Maven in 2006 and they make their home in Thousand Oaks with their dog “Neptune”, cat “Gypsy”, rabbit “Gulliver”, bird “Spirit” and tortoises “Genevieve” and “Lancelot”.


Pam Andrews – Vet Receptionist
Pam grew up on a small Hobby Farm in Minnesota and moved to California in 2007. She then started working for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital as a Vet Receptionist. On the home front, Pam has 4 grown children and 7 grandkids (who she loves very much!) She also has 2 Golden Retrievers “Tess” & “Tucker” and a horse “Roy” back in Minnesota. She enjoys going to the gym, tennis, riding her horse …and of course, taking her dogs to the beach!


Birgit Scholz & Thomas Scholz – Vet Tech & Vet Assistant
Birgit and Thomas were born and raised in Germany. Birgit received a college degree in Business Administration, and Thomas a degree in Pharmacy Technology. As a married couple Thomas and Birgit immigrated to the US in 1995. Birgit has worked for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for 10 years as a Vet Tech and she is also a successful dog trainer. Thomas later joined the Team as a Vet Assistant. Their love of animals has changed their life! Thomas & Birgit live in Ventura with their dogs “Shogun” a Husky-Shepherd mix and “Lucky”, a Corgi-JRT mix and love the outdoors, especially the beach and mountains.


Blake Thomas – VT
Blake has lived in Southern California his whole life and began working in Veterinary Technology at the age of 18. Although Blake has worked only 5 months for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital, he is unique in that he also works for Dr. Dan Slaton and Westlake Village Animal Hospital! A cat enthusiast, he lives with his ‘pride’, headed by new Lynx kitten “Bently”. Blake plans on furthering his education in the field of medicine in the near future.


Rachel Scott – Bather
Rachel is Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital’s newest employee, having relocated to Agoura Hills from the East Coast in early 2010. She has an Associates Degree in digital animation and moved to Los Angeles to break into ‘the industry’! Beside art & music, she enjoys spending time with animals and being at the beach.


Mary Pierce – Head Groomer
Mary knew all her life she wanted to work with animals. She graduated high school in 1991 and began her first job in a grooming shop, working as a bather/brusher for 3 years. She then attended Rochester Institute of Dog Grooming in New york, completing her training in 1994. She has been grooming ever since! Mary has been married to husband Bryan for 15 years and they live in Thousand Oaks with their 3 dogs, 18 year old Yorkshire Terrier "Misty", 8 year old JRT "Jay" and 8 year old "Zelda", a pu-chi mix!


Heather Wiggins-Dunlap – Vet Receptionist
Heather grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and now lives in Moorpark with her husband Bill, their 4 Saint Bernards, 1 Maltese, 1 Yorkshire Terrier and many, many birds! She is the owner of “Professional Pet Care”, and has worked in the veterinary field since 1986, first in the kennels, then as a Vet Tech and more recently as a Vet Receptionist. When she is not taking care of pets, she loves camping at the beach and ‘drafting’ with her Saint Bernards.


nGail Bledsoe – Vet Receptionist
Gail lives in Agoura Hills. She has worked for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for 1 & ½ years now as a Vet Receptionist and loves her job! You might see her around town with her constant companion, a black & white Lhasa Apso “T.L.” (Thelonious Monk).


llAlison Pohlman – Vet Receptionist
Alison is a California native who lives with her boyfriend Chris, their dog “Mason”, cat “Georgia” & turtle “Scout”. She has worked for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for 1 year now, but has worked in the veterinary field for 10 years, both as Vet Assistant and Vet Receptionist. Ali enjoys being able to work with both animals and people!



llCole Harden – Vet Assistant
Cole has lived in Agoura Hills his whole life and is currently attending Moorpark College.  After that he plans on transferring to a university where he can earn his BA degree in either music or audio engineering.  Beside music, he has a great love for animals.  Having a father who is an accomplished animal trainer in the movie industry, Cole has lived around all sorts of different animals his entire life. Cole has worked for Dr. Steve Rosenstein and Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital for almost 7 months now, and his family has been bringing their pets in to Agoura Westlake Animal Hospital since 1991.  Cole's two pets now are "Chico", an Akita, & "Boomer", a British Shorthair.
