Subsequently on July 21, 2009 the following letter was received from Dr. R.D. Sande, world renown veterinary radiologist. "Dr. Slaton, Thank you for the post operative images of Nate. I am pleased to have had the opportunity to review this case. The post operative images show excellent alignment of the fracture. The metal fixation device was obviously produced in surgery with creative ingenuity, and it provides excellent support for the fracture reduction. I have not seen any better application of an orthopedic device for treatment of spinal fracture in over forty years of reviewing radiographs." (emphasis added) To relate another example: Dr. Slaton was able, using our digital ultrasound equipment, to diagnose that a very rambunctious black lab had swallowed a toy mouse which lodged in his small intestines. Dr. Slaton performed immediate surgery to remove the toy mouse avoiding a potentially life-threatening injury. The next day, as rambunctious as ever, the patient went home to his relieved and very happy family. Dr. Slaton and his associates are trained in the latest surgical techniques. We offer a full range of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries from routine spays and neuters to more advanced procedures such as spinal, knee or hip surgery. Our EKG and Pulse Oximetry equipment can monitor your pet’s heart rate and vital signs to better determine how well your pet is responding to treatment during surgical procedures. Our digital X-Ray and Ultrasound equipment provides the highest level of detail in diagnosing these injuries to determine the type of procedures required for your family pet. Should your pet require surgery please call 805-497-4900 to schedule an appointment. |
